Yeah this was a pretty tough listen. Couple of really bright spots but a lot of this is on par with Revival.

Bloke was a flash in the pan for about 18mnths quarter of a century ago.
He needs to take a look at himself.

He’s made some good shit since then. I don’t really see how anyone that dug SSLP or MMLP would hate MMLP2 or Hell The Sequel.

Rolling Stone absolutely obliterated this one

Legit a good ass review that I completely agree with.
Don’t think I’ve ever agreed with fucking rolling stone so much. What’s the over/under on the melon score? I’m going with a 3

Still really enjoying this. I just can’t stand Temporary and somebody save me — they just reek of Revival era em.

Yeah my Stan friend legit said they’re the emotional high points on the record and I didn’t have the heart to tell him they were trash

Have had zero desire to return to any of this.

The concept was intriguing but the execution is so bad and half the songs just wind up sounding edgy for the sake of it with absolutely no substance at all. He could have cut most of the first half without actually harming the "concept" at all
|

Here’s the concept: it sucks ass but Eminem stans pretend it’s good.

Yep. If this were like 40 mins and he cut all of the trash bars I could see myself really digging this

Unfortunately turned out to be very true

18 months is generous

Eminem is like South Park in that it was cool in 4th grade and the old stuff gets the occasional chuckle but that’s about it. Every passing year it gets more and more lame

…yeah it’s hard to admit it but man, the Slim Shady LP was fucking hard to get through when I listened to it the other day. MMLP still holds up for the most part. This is just bad imo

Houdini comes on too late in the album for the narrative to make sense

If you play the album tracks in reverse the story becomes the death of Marshall Mathers.
