This band (at least past laugh tracks) is like if emmure could write memorable songs, but yes they are very much in the same sonic wheelhouse

Emmure could be worse, I think I'd actually enjoy it if they had a different vocalist. Ol' Frankie's timbre doesn't quite work for me. But I can always go for the occasional I see a FIRE IN THE SKYYYYYY.

And yeah, GTTG was definitely an important high school album for me.

Damn I just went back through a bit of GTTG for the first time in ages and the vocals are a deal breaker for me

hey a lot of people feel the same way about this haha. can't blame anyone though both are very distinctive. i prefer a unique vocalist personally.

Indeed. Comparing Emmure with KL is like comparing Nickelback with Alice in Chains

"i find it very funny that if this band existed in 2008 everyone would be making fun of it and calling it hot topic scenecore but here we are in 2024 and everyone digs it."

lol, based

also makes me feel old or 'less progressive' because I don't get it either

but yeah, public perception re certain styles changes over time, or something... it can often be a good thing!

I honestly think KL had better songwriting on A Different Shade of Blue.

“Comparing Emmure with KL is like comparing Nickelback with Alice in Chains”

Jesus Christ I’ve never read anything so accurate in my life. Yes… there are loads of similarities. But good god the leap in quality for both is absolutely fucking massive.

And sure, people bitch about Bryan’s vocals. Personally, I think he’s great. But are we really gonna sit here and pretend that the emmure bitch is 1/10th the lyricist that Bryan is? And Bryan ain’t no poet, but good lord that guy is actually capable of some emotive wordsmith and has more depth to his pengame than pit callouts and dumb shit I would’ve written in my notebook in middle school.

They're so based for only making this 27 minutes long, 40 minutes is pretty longwinded for this style.
