What a great album that is. Seeing Suffocation in such a good shape in 2023 is eye watering.

The deathcore-y breakdown moments on Perpetual Deception are kind of cringe, but this is really solid stuff overall, and Eric is a fitting replacement for Frank. I think it was a weird choice to have Frank do the entire last track though. Would've made more sense for him to have a guest spot on part of it, especially since he sounds a little rough in spots.

At least they evidently enjoyed making this album from the sound of it. Has the most verve out of anything they put together since Pierced tbh. I really did not expect them to make an album that isn't ass after the steady and slow downward trajectory they were on for basically a couple decades.

Blood Oath is my third favorite Suffocation album and I even think Pinnacle of Bedlam is pretty good, so I don't share that feeling. Haven't listened to Of the Dark Light since it came out so I can't really speak on that one, I don't remember enjoying it though.

Pierced, Effigy, This, Self-titled, Breeding the Spawn, Souls to Deny
And the others are solid but I don't revisit them like the ones I just listed
