Not to mention Iommi wrote all his best riffs when Ozzy was in the band.

Dio did resuscitate the band, most def, but it was all about him on this and MR. On the Ozzy Era, the band chemisttry was fantastic. Geezer's melodicism + Tony's riffs of doom + Bill's solid-ass fills + Ozzy's eerie voice = win-win-win formula.

it's true that Tony, Geezer and Bill were on their creativity peak on the 70's, but even though Ozzy's voices fits well with the music Sabbath did on those years, I never believed that he actually contributed in anything to the band

I'll go even further: few bands, if any, have even come close to the chemistry on Ozzy-Era Sabbath. It was special as fuck.

It's cool MSLG, you're usually right on classic rock. Sadly, well, I don't think you're right on Sabbath.

I don't know, asides from Solitude or Planet Caravan (songs that he could never sing live) I don't see why it's so special, of course, his voice is what gave 70's Sabbath its identity but, I don't know, maybe I don't like the fact that he's so praised when 70's Sabbath was all about Tony, Geezer and Bill whom never received enough recognition

The absolute vast mayority of the music was written entirely by Tony, the other members contributed a few aspects at best, so if you have to think that way all the credit should go to him, but you can't really have a one man (non-bm) band like this can you

Just visualize what listening to albums like ItCotCK, SEBTP, MoR and Fireball must've felt like when they came out. Those bands revolutionized music on the whole. The world was never the same once Ozzy Sabbath had made it's mark.

Kinda makes me wish I had a time machine so I could experience those records back in the day.

This is better than the eponymous, Master of Reality and and Vol. 4, don't know about the rest

This isn't close to any of those for me.

Hopefully MSLG will realize his blasphemy in time.

Nah, doubt it, probably close to the eponymous but not to the other two

Their first six are different than this one so I can't compare them directly. In terms of enjoyment though, I prefer this one over Vol. 4 and SBS.
