On average, and in context, I'd say it's as good of a comeback album for this band as Power/Up and Senjutsu were for those bands, with many of the same qualities and flaws as either of those.
Inb4 'omg did he just compare Limp Bizkit to Maiden wtf!!!' That's why I said 'in context'.

I'm too afraid to ask whether that ratings curve is a joke or not.

I get all the meme 5's but I'm concerned about all the 4.5's, like I don't know how to interpret those

Starts out really strong with the 4 first tracks, then just kinda falls off the deep end.

I still think the band suck and that it's boring as hell listening to them, but I'm glad that Durst has found some self-awareness and isn't taking himself too seriously and actually seems to be enjoying himself, as is the whole band. There was a time when he took shit way too seriously and given that the music was simplistic trash for the most part, that's not a good thing. He had a meltdown at various points in his career haha. I never thought this band would age well so I'm surprised they made it out.

Yeah, some of the self-depreciating lyrics are pretty funny to listen to

Plus I’m not surprised that the avg will hit 2.7 or something later. That 4.6 was good while it lasted

“and given that the music was simplistic trash for the most part”
How is that? The music is the best part about bizkit— always has been. Some of their songs are legendary tier catchy, fun and heavy. It’s the reason they’re considered “guilty pleasure”

The band’s downfall has always been durst. But since gold cobra he’s lightened up a lot and it’s helped their music immensely

Fourth listen over lunch break. By and large, opinion has not changed. Still tend to forget songs exist between Turn It Up and Love the Hate, and between Barnacle and Snacky Poo. Still think Fred Durst's screaming is awful, and Love the Hate is embarrassing. Worst In Me still sounds like an attempt to keep up with new acts (from 20 years ago) and deliver what the kids (of 20 years ago) want - the least self-aware moment of the entire album, bafflingly so in fact.
With that said, still unabashedly jam to the first four tracks, Barnacle and Snacky Poo (not even ashamed) and still respect the effort to deliver something different with Goodbye and the (apparently) INXS cover.
Hovering between a 3-3.5, but probably a 3, as I'd feel guilty rating this higher both Power/Up and Senjutsu.

Humans had to become older 20 years to start appreciating Limp Bizkit.
Funny how life works.

Considering that this took 10 years to make, we should probably appreciate the fact it didn’t suffer the godawful production hell of Let The Bad Times Roll.
How did The Offspring fuck up their production quality THAT bad when Limp Bizkit have now absolutely nailed it in very similar circumstances?

people say durst ruins the band but its the opposite. this band is nothing without him. they would not be as good as they are with a more conventional or """good""" singer
|

Agreed, band wouldn't be the same without him

Yeah, you don't really have LB without Durst.
"Humans had to become older 20 years to start appreciating Limp Bizkit."
Also same with Creed, I see people finally warming up on here.

The average Limp Bizkit song is literally better than 80% of what is on the radio today.

To be fair, the band probably shouldn't exist anyways.
