Hey, since we're speaking on streaming services, I'm considering making the jump from Spotify to Apple Music. Is it worth it? Thoughts? Opinions?

"a dream about sex: the outtakes" eventually dropping would be nice

""a dream about sex: the outtakes"
basically their Patreon content

Lmao
Also yeah Cold it's at the least absolutely worth checking it out because they do a whole 3 month long trial and they recently upgraded to having some FLAC stuff. Spotify sucks for a number of reasons but most importantly its sound quality is absolute dogshit

I recently switched to Tidal Hi-Fi from Spotify. 9.99 USD per month. It was a great decision.

I guess my main worry is that maybe Apple won't have some of the stuff that's on Spotify? I suppose where I'm going with this is that I've been burned before on Spotify where they get rid of albums/artists/songs. I can integrate my already existing iTunes music into Apple Music right? And yes, I'm in my mid 30's and can't technology right, lol.

I don't think I have any real interest in Tidal or YouTube music or something, haven't heard enough positivity about them.

yea i prefer apple music to spotify very smooth local file integration too

Tidal gets you the best music quality bar none, even at comparable price points. The only things that I was unable to find on Tidal that Spotify has is a lot of my more obscure Japanese music, although they do carry some heavy hitters like Perfume and Utada. They do not have local file integration which is definitely a point in Apple's favor. I do really like the interface (always felt Spotify's UI was god awful) and their human-curated playlists really are superior. So there's my pitch lol.

Spotify's ML and algorithmic approach to playlists I find far superior and think their UI is far superior to Apple. You can also get it at the lowest price point by getting a $17 Family plan and sharing with 6 friends (~$3-$4) a person. I am also just a HUGE spotify fan boy and still hold contention on Apple bashing them for years before completely stealing their whole platform.
Have never used Tidal but understand the sound quality argument for it.
I also recommend reading or listening to "The Spotify Play". Really interesting book about the rise of spotify and it goes through the whole history of where streaming came from and how the company was formed.

Fourth apple music. Love that they have near top tier streaming quality similar to tidal now too. Great file integration and the playlist algorithm has improved tenfold over the years.
|
| |
Yeah I think when Apple Music upped their streaming quality there's really no reason not to use it, it's found its footing enough to where I'd comfortably say it's better than Spotify
But I like Tidal and Qobuz most because of their high sound quality

@Slex just finished running through your playlist and it was really well paced, nice work. I was very skeptical about the Imposter Syndrome placement because I though it worked well as an opener, but it was very well placed in the end. Curitiba is a fave and I am happy you opened with it and Sleep Well makes for a great mid-album highlight
|
| |
Happy to hear you liked it! It's funny because Sleep Well and Electric Moose really do flow into each other so good but Electric Moose is just a weird as hell opener to have for something, goes over so much better with everything surrounding it

I agree, I like electric Moose but it didn't feel right as an opener, should have opened ep 2 with Curitiba

if they ever fully master and mix Spiral and Pentagram I would probably drop those on here instead of Moose and Syndrome. they're both great but they really feel like one-off singles and just sit weird as the openers
