The beatdown style of hardcore/metalcore that has risen to prominence as of late usually bores me to tears. This is where I think they finally added something extra to their sound and made it a lot more engaging, not just a breakdown exhibition.
I get the appeal the genre aims for but it's almost always too one-note.

I'm not the biggest TDWP fan but I absolutely love the Zombie EP. It's not as heavy as this the whole way through but it's 5 songs of punching you in the face. You might dig it even if you're not in TDWP.
