@park, lol fair. I can't pretend to know much about thrash. I got strong Metallica vibes from Mars is all. Maybe I'm pinning the wrong genre tag on this. All I know is that I didn't find the drumming very dynamic or interesting. It felt like a constant barrage.

"I think that's going a bit far, lol"

Fortitude is such a terrible intro, that one really stands out to me as just being obnoxious.

Yet another Gojira album that I will never play when I'm in the mood for their music. I'll just stick with the first four albums forever it seems.

When has Gojira ever had incredible vocal ranges?

From Mars to Sirius is an incredible album. A bit long maybe, but one of the best prog metal albums of all time. I don't think I've ever heard production as heavy as that one.

lol, that Allmusic review was false. But I wouldn't be surprised at all if they did write all that

"When has Gojira ever had incredible vocal ranges?" this has some of Joe's best performances to date.

Even the better songs on this album aren't great. It's a pale imitation of what came before. On the bright side, it's not worse than Magma. So they've at least slowed down their decline.

The album comes off as way too monotonous, plain and simple. Drumming in the intro to Grind sounds so flappy and literally reminded me of this: https://youtu.be/6uMS2exH6oY?t=34

The first thing I thought when Born for One Thing came out was how good the bass was. I also love the solo on Grind, even though I feel it comes too soon and the song finishes prematurely (lel).

Other than that, I have the impression some comments on here sound a bit too entitled to the music as a product and the artist as a servant. Come on guys, I don't think we should treat any art offering as a plate of food with a hair in it
