‘I personally find the production to be fairly flat, I don't think it is doing the riffs justice. For example the 2 minute mark on Omega Severer should sound absolutely huge.‘
There are definitely a few would-be ‘big’ moments where I’m thinking ‘do I have this loud enough?’. Any louder and it gets uncomfortable. Having to fiddle with the volume levels regularly makes for an unhappy Demon.

This definitely benefits from good sound separation if your system/headphones can do it well.

Lol exactly
Btw, I have pre decent headphones and have no complaints with them so far, but the argument of needing a good ones to enjoy the music is one I wouldn t even want to get start with. Ultimately music needs to have value on its own, although bad production can indeed ruin albums. This album for me for example clicked puting it loud af in the car, which is not a top notch system per se. Idk boys, try to get out of the hype or listen to music without thinking of sput. Its okay, because there s tons of albums you can enjoy if you still don t enjoy this.
Sure, some music works better on headphones. As you listen lots of stuff like we all here, you kinda need to guarantee a quality listen and end up acquiring quality headphones. But damn if you dig or not an album should those differences matter that much? To imply these bunch of nerds do not take care of their listening experience is also a bit naive. Also when a band produces an album they should have those white universal speakers in which should guarantee music to function properly on all speakers lolol

I’m really happy with my headphones generally, works fine for most of what I listen to and certain things sound incredible. This doesn’t actually sound bad by any measure and is mostly absolutely fine, but it does blend together very slightly at points. I wouldn’t have even said anything if it wasn’t for the other comment(s).

I love my nightowls, but good music is good music, doesn't matter what it's played through.
All better quality speaker systems or headphones do is increase the definition of what you're listening too, so think clearer sound stages, more separation of the instruments (if production allows) more accurate in note production ect. The latest Bullet (for example) is going to be shit to listen too regardless of how good your speaker system is because the song writing is shite.

They seem to be doing pretty good for a fairly unknown band's second album. Good for them.

See, I got the "flat" sound mostly from my car speakers, my Galaxy Buds did a little better (the Wear app EQ is actually pretty impressive) but it really came alive with my Senni's (3).
HD 25 I-II's specifically. They make it sound like the various instruments, and even individual tracks (as in the layers of sound within each song, that type of "track") are positioned in different/distinct physical spaces around you. Totally eliminated the mushed together effect I was hearing without them.

Just ordered this on vinyl. I’ve only heard one single and part of the first track so it’s nearly a blind purchase. Really dig the little bit that I’ve heard and the reviews on here look pretty damn good, so why not!

@DD lol yeah, I've had them for like 10+ years, still good as new. Researched for weeks and the Head-Fi.org forums were all about the HD 25's for metal, specifically because of the sound separation.
It really can totally change your perception of certain albums and you'll pick up on stuff that you didn't before.
