My biggest memory of this album so far is on Election Day I picked the wrooong polling place so I was stuck in line for about two hours. The whole time I was hella nervous and I had Motive and Nasty stuck in my head like a nervous tick. That happens in periods of high stress for me, I’ll get like a 3 second loop from a song just absolutely rooted in my subconscious. It was the lines “Don’t wanna wait on your love I just wanna get nast-yyyy” and “I see you trying, subliminally trying, to see if imma be the one to stay around” that just kept playing in my head over and over and over and over.... so yeah long story short nasty and motive by Ariana are symbolically tied to Trump getting crushed on Election Day for me.
