Secret Band's last album is barely a 6/10 with like maybe three standouts (Lightning, Rabbit Hole, and Meat Bag) so, yes they are meh too. They're at their best when they're sounding like The Mars Volta, but that isn't something that comes up often.

I'll just say, from a purely lyrics-standpoint, the dynamic that Jon Mess and Kurt had going on at 'Rock Solid' is the magnum opus of everything I ever wanted to hear from two vocalists. Seriously though, these two had a very complimentary non-ego, honest, self-deprecating style that just works.
