"$20 says playing through a nice set of speakers you could not tell the difference streaming official YT uploads versus Spotify."

$5000 dollars says i could

I mean lately they've been putting pretty much everything on there through auto generation day one of release.

"the comment was more about playlists versus albums digitally or otherwise"

gotcha my b. at home thats the usual deal but at work i often prefer playlists just because i'm usually looking for a certain vibe and want like 8 hours straight of uninterrupted content without having decide and queue something else up

Part of this probably lies with the fact that the only times I listen to music are at home with my desktop or in the car through my speaker system. Can't listen at work.

I'm too tired to listen to music on my morning commute which is not bad cause it's only 20 minutes, then coming home is 30-45 and I'm awake so an album is nice.

my commute is like a 10-15 min drive so putting on an album is pretty anticlimactic for that lol

hmm that is telling isnt it

every couple of years i revisit grimes to see if i think shes worth listening to

im doing that right now

i dont think i will be listening to her again

although i remember liking Visions for the laid back vocals then finding her later work obnoxious

back in the day, getting into the knife and grimes via crystal castles ultimately laid the groundwork for discovering a load of electronic that wasn't directly from downtempo/trip-hop or BoC-SAW lineages and ig i should be grateful
but of those three artists, she's by far the one who's been most outshone by superior alternatives i've heard since. probably one of the best examples of a gateway/throwaway artist i can think of (this one is still q good though)

How did this woman drop Visions and then become an embarrassment, drop those bangers in Cyberpunk and then become a bigger embarrassment?

I never got the hype even when she was acclaimed. Couple tracks
