Yeah, thought I'd start listening to music that actually matters. I'll still jam the stuff I usually do, just going to sprinkle some 'essential listening' as well (regardless of genre)... if it's all this enjoyable then it should be quite the ride.

This guy has quite the extensive discog, I'm guessing it's very varied.

Bitches Brew is amazing but it takes time to unravel (something it never fully does) The thing is an absolute beast.

Yeah its an intimidating endeavour. If I liked jazz more than I do, it - and this album too - would probably have me frothing at the gash, but jazz generally leaves me extremely underwhelmed in lieu of its technical proficiencies. But in the off chance I actually feel like listening to jazz Ill usually toss either of the two on the ole gramaphone.

What's your chill-out music Evo? This felt very relaxing but still engaging, I have very few albums that can do it simultaneously for me as usually I get bored. Sigur Ros normally is my go to jam for this mood, hoping to add more.

this is all obviously my personal take on it, but I found Bitches Brew to be like reading Ulysses.. it's vast and all-encompassing, chaotic and disciplined at the same time.. and just like Ulysses, it took me years and several go's to get all of it and sink into it.. and a few more years to understand that I didn't much like any of it..

Hahah well put. Pretty much how I feel about jazz in general. A whole lotta fluff.
