To clarify some of my comments, which might seem in contradiction to each other, the new track seems to me to retain the identity of the band. I just don't think that retaining identity is sufficient for being able to fit into a particular album. We might distinguish between a band's identity and an album's identity. The new track retains band identity, but not album identity. Of course, I'm sure that if it ends up on an album, it will fit *that* album's identity.
