I get if you don’t like post hardcore or reverby guitar leads and not liking this. I just think the general idea of “this sounds like something Sputnik would love I must hate on it” anti-hype train is mad dumb

you guys are cray. ive already stated i loved the satellite years, and i enjoy quite a lot of post-hardcore. was extremely excited for this album. i just dont like where they went here.
you keep devaluing my opinion as being a hater just to hate, but thats not a very savory thing to do and not something i have interest in or time for. i genuinely think they are being (perhaps purposefully) unartistic here and more concerned about expanding a potential fanbase

I would've told storm had I the chance earlier to say that I didn't see this covered by other outlets as much as it was here, so it really hasn't caught on as quick outside of immediate fans and supporters. that's where the love is coming from. and it really is an improvement from their post-Satellite works, which shows through the ratings. it's cool if you've been finding/gravitated towards stuff you've liked for the most part (lucid) and needed something to hate on (gyro) but leave that petty shit out of here.

actually AAS you don't come off as a hater since I know you listen to different shit but it's not like you know the intent behind every artistic decision from this project so to go as far as comparing the art to native American ripoff as if they're veterans of Coachella is too much.

"i genuinely think they are being (perhaps purposefully) unartistic here"
WHAT DOES THIS EVEN MEAN
|
| |
I'm perfectly fine with people hating things but I cannot ever understand the sheer self-importance and ballsy audacity some people have to go an assume an artist's intentions and use it as a basis for how they feel about it. It makes no sense other than a cheap tactic to try and justify why you dislike something (or why you like something in other cases).
Sometimes disliking something doesn't need justification. Sometimes all you know is it sucks.

People hating on this are grabbing at the lowest hanging fruit. “The art is lame”, “this didnt live up to the sput hype”, “this doesn’t sound like satellite years” ... no fucking shit sherlock that album came out over 15 years ago.

It is incredibly boring to listen to
How are them low hanging apples

There’s that boring adjective again that I was speaking of earlier. Good morning everyone! CanMt wait to start the day and spin this one again.

This album has aimless songwriting and is dreadfully monotonous. Maybe that's low hanging fruit because it's so obvious?

The thought of someone yawning to this because of how “boring” it is just makes me feel pity for them.
That’s you, Doof x2

Not sure if it’s obvious if your opinion is not the popular one. What is aimless about the songwriting? Most if not all the songs are based in a structure, much like most music in general. Not so aimless if there’s structure, no?

yea there are variations/call and responses in the verses/choruses going on, not aimless if that’s the aim of the writing. plus it’s not that different compared to their other records or the writing in many early ‘00s core records. if they weren’t your thing then oh well, you’re still here.

I'd even rather hop in the time machine and listen to 'Water and Solutions' again ahead of this
I mean 'Drowning Pool' is probably the most 'fun' song on this and it'd be the worst song on 'Water and Solutions'
And Far always were a 3 out of 5 sort of band for me, even in 1998. At least they didn't have this stinking sheen of twinkly 'so epic' gloss smothering everything.
