Me too, I was so sick of that. Now people are back onboard and I love it. Their live show hasn't lost its edge either and is quite possibly better than ever.

Yeah parks, this is a definitely a 5 for me. This is just pure metal bliss. Everything about this is good. It's got that good classic metal feel with an updated, heavy sound. I love it.

Listen to "Western Vespertine" before anything else ... if you like that, you will like this album. If you don't, you won't like this album.

Hammer is excellent as well, in a similar vein & I might actually prefer that one.

If you end up enjoying this I'd strongly recommend Hammer of the Witches next, I actually prefer it over this but there isn't much in it.

Both Hammer and this are 5s for me too. Metal done absolutely right. Might end up beating classic Cradle even.

Park this band rules don’t write them off based on shit people say. This and Hammer are both modern metal classics for sure. You won’t find better riffage.

Both are def on the level of the first 5 releases and even better depending on the day for me (although Dusk and Midian are GOAT). I prefer this one over Hammer by a very slim margin but you can’t go wrong.

"Park this band rules don’t write them off based on shit people say."

i didnt, i listened to some of their stuff at random around the time thornography was big and i never liked any of it. i mean some was okay but no more than that

i know this sounds harsh cuz of how much u love em but thats my experience

if the recent stuff is like those two songs tho then i can see myself digging it

Yeah I mean give this and Hammer a try. If you dig them then go back and give Midian a try too and if you dig that you’d prob be able to ease yourself into the early stuff.

Death And The Maiden is sneaking all the way up to the top Cradle tracks for me. Such a different song for them too, with the acoustic sounding guitar etc. Would be cool if the new one will go in that direction in a way.

You Will Know the Lion By His Claw is the most underrated song here hands down for me. Might be my fav tbh. God this whole album is perfect.

This is the best he’s sounded in almost 2 decades and the most varied he’s ever been. The guy can do it all.

New line-up definitely revitalised him.
