Overwhelming average and rain of 5s on this page, damn. I went into this expecting to be completely mindblown but it didn't happen, i guess it needs a bit of a focused listen following the lyrics.

that's the problem with albums like this. with such monumental acclaim, it's hard not to anticipate something incredible and then feel somewhat disappointed with the lack of payoff "oh it's just nice acoustic folk but not much more"



as with most of the best, give it time

Yeah, I was neither impressed nor disappointed by this first time around but it's holding up great and I'll be coming back to it for who knows how long. Am down with wherever it takes me, v glad it'll be on its own terms and now whatever rolling stone top 500 bullshit
