I mean people do it with other mediums, if I had a dollar for every single time I've heard someone go to the newest marvel movie and say it was the best one yet...

i think it's more that we've been waiting eight years for this, and after numerous delays and disappoitning teaser tracks this is better than anything i could have possibly hoped for
like i could see this taking on tdag as their very best

I'm honestly surprised for how edgy it still is and delighted by it. The middle tempers off for a bit but the heavier tracks hit hard.

Not saying it’s better or worse, just kinda hard to gauge that right now. I’d say it’s TDAG 2 tho.

That's a good point.
Although I enjoyed the shit out of "Mene" and "I Am A Nightmare"

And most importantly, my hot take: damn is it impressive how they can still bring it, hold true to their core sound and identity and release a new record that stands up tot he rest of their discography without watering their sound down, bastardizing their identity or becoming a parody of themselves. For the genre they're in most of their contemporaries haven't been able to stay relevant or have the candle burning even a fraction of the brightness they had years ago, Brand New is still shining bright and burning strong.

Guuuuurl if that ain’t the truth. I was expecting YFW 2 after those singles but we somehow got TDAG 2 I’m not gonna question it.

I just didn't expect this direction. I expected something of the I Am A Nightmare ilk. Luckily this is a lot more Out of Range

I remember arguin in circles with sowing telling him the singles weren't going to be on their next lp and just dumped tracks and he insisted he thought they would be. Feels good to be right.
