I actually prefer A Thousand Suns to this, but this is pretty good too. I just think the band was in a transitionary period at the time

ATS and THP are their worst albums to me, I could never get into them

Living Things and One More Light aren't superb, but they're laid back and fun which I appreciated for whatever reason at each respective time

A Thousand Suns was a lot more interesting and felt like it was close to becoming a daring concept record, had they gotten rid of some songs like Wretches & Kings or When They Come For Me and a few of the pointless interludes. But otherwise the best songs on that album slap really hard.

Living Things had a solid beginning and ending, but the middle was just nauseating to get through, and One More Light doesn’t really need any further explanation.

"I remember driving 30 minutes to Best Buy to purchase this on CD, and the disappointment that followed was unmatched for me at that time. I actually think this aged well, however."

Yes, similar experience

The main thing that might drag this down for me is the tracklist order. The album is so front loaded with singles while the second half is all deeper cuts. If they mixed them evenly throughout it would be a lot more fun to listen to imo.

I wonder who's idea it was to splice some 80's heavy metal and a Papa Roach chorus for No More Sorrow...

Couple of decent tracks on this, but far too weighed down by some absolute dross. Been a letdown since the day it was released.

I mean, the Ebow lead came from Brad and supposedly he was a Metallica fan back in the day, so probably him.

Haven't listened to that Poo Fighters record, but I'll take the Linkin Suck one, because of catchy choruses :3
