"Okay biggest reason why this album sucks for me is that I absolutely abhor listening to successful people whine about their problems. 100% biggest turn-off in music for me, and this album is 75 minutes of that. The fact that all his ranting and whining is diary-style entry and completely centered and limited to himself multiplies that abhorrence. I don't care if he knows he's being ironic or knows he's manipulating people (again, shitty on the human virtue scale), he sounds like a whiny crybaby bitch and I can't relate to that and I'll never enjoy it."

Yeah, idk most musicians tend to whine a lot. But most are able to frame it in a way that's relatable or even endearing. So I'd argue that it's less about the whining in principle, more about how you go about doing it. And well, this doesn't do it well.

Is he really that self-centred on this album? Granted I've only listened to it a handful of times... I know he's laying down a perhaps "contrived" egalitarian social commentary but is it really that offensive? His vocal melodies to me seem on point and I'm enjoying a lot of the catchy hooks. Looking at this objectively I just struggle to see how you can justify it being "trash in every single way"

lol as if delineating genres matters; people are people and when they write music they tend to cover things important to them, which will inevitably include whining about relationships, hardships, loneliness, struggles, et al.
