I totally disagree with many, many people all over the world, telling me that this album sucks. I really like it's aggressivity. Althought this album really does get repetetive after time has passed, sometimes I just need this adrenaline packed monster to get in to my CD player and listen to it all day long. Few songs are disappointments, but I really don't hate them just because of the Garage-style mixing of this album. The mixing of the drums is perfectly good for my ears. And trust me, I really have heard every single Metallica song many times to say, that these do compete with them. I would give it a good 3,5/5.

Yeah, this album doesen't suck as much as everyone says and it has snippets of brilliance in My world and the unamed feeling but thats about it. It has less than nothing on the old stuff. And Load and Reload Were better.

for any other band this album like this one would be their best but for a brilliant band like metallica it is their worst by far

I just listened to this album again last night, how ridiculous of me to even try to like it. A few guitar players were just horrified with how bad this album sounded. It's sad that when an album is so bad, that it's just one huge inside joke to my group of friends.

In my opinion, this album was the bane of metal. I have so many friends that have shifted from metal to punk because of this fuckin album. Horrible lyrics, Hetfield sounds like shit, too repetative, and all in all the sound just sucks. Only sound i can tolerate listenen to is Frantic.

St anger rocks, just in a more angrier, heavier sorta way! if u disagree buy the "some kind of monster" dvd, it should change your mind.

I actually found that SKOM (the movie) reinforced my opinion. It showed them in the biggest creative and personal rut they've ever been in.

yep, st anger was the first album in wich every member of 'tallica contributed in the music making, plus they were more united and james was out of alcohol, i still think this album is pretty good, crappy production but the music is headbangable

I hope people don't hate me for this, but i thought it was decent...if you were like me and got this before you even knew how Metallica used to be. The problems i have with it are how some songs are repititive (goes along with lack of solos), and Lars' snare. ::cringes::

yeah the songs are kind of repetitive, for me the lack of solos isnt a problem i dont think every song has to have a solo, and actually i do like lars drumming in this album, he uses awesomelly his double bassThis Message Edited On 04.16.06

Definatly an odd album for Metallica but i would argue its not there worst Load was definatly the worst album Metallica has ever realased the should'nt have even produced it they should have just used the ReLoad songs instead (since they wrote all of Load and Reload for those who don't know that).
I blame mostly Bob Rock and know that he is gone and Metallica is working with the producer of Slipknot i think this new album might bring back the classic Metallica....hopefully....
