"I'm trying to understand how they thought that cover art was a good idea. It looks like fucking shit.
Go to Metallica.com right now LOL

Nope, they are probably talking about the guitar hero version...or just some random dude who remastered the album by himself and uploaded to youtube....
|
| |
I like the idea of them being posessed, but I think this is ridiculous, just like the pantera's album cover of reinventing the steel....

Honestly, if anyone rated this higher than Load then I'd like to have what they were smoking, because most of the songs on this album sound like overlong, less-skillfully-performed Load/Reload rejects. That being said, there's definitely some good stuff on here. Atlas Rise is my personal favorite so far.

I rated Load a 3.5, one of my favourites from them, not thrash metal at all but it is actually enjoyable...

In blabbermouth the focus of the comments on the album was how reminiscent of load and reload is this album...oh and the black album

I should clarify that I'm a huge fan of Load and my totally biased rating of it shows as such. My comment was mostly pointing out the hypocrisy of the Sputnik readership in giving this a 3.4 while having mostly panned Load years earlier. Nice to see some love for Load in this thread though!

I put the album in a list where I mentioned "hard criticized albums" which are my favourite ones.

Load isn't a bad album. It has a few great songs, some really lame ones, and a bunch of decent ones. It's better than its reputation, and I prefer it to ReLoad and St. Anger for sure. This is better than all three though imo
Also I'm pretty sure the Death Magnetic remastered version that we've been talking about is the Guitar Hero one, which was made available online a few years back. Technically it is a professional version, since it was for Guitar Hero: Metallica, and is a marked improvement to the official one. All in all, it's still their best since the Black Album.

Death Magnetic was remastered for iTunes last year, and that version is also available as a high-quality FLAC download from the band's official webstore. it's not the same as the Guitar Hero master and is actually a huge improvement over both that and the original; definitely the best version of the album released to date.
