"Crossroads, or What This Says About You" of the new one is rapidly becoming one of my favorite Lambchop tunes.

Haven't really settled on favourites yet other than the opener is definitely a classic/one of the best on the album.

Yeah the new one is not too shabby at all but by Christ do I miss Wagners croons.

Once I've gotten familiar with all the lyrics here I'm not missing the standard croon too much.
Big impact when it comes back on the last two tunes, '...but he failed to deliver'
Actually the penultimate tune is an interesting one because Kurt sings like he's still using the auto tune but he's actually singing clean - took me a few listens to notice on that one.
This album is an absolute bald pate scorcher far as I'm concerned now lol

I’d take a Damaged, Oh Ohio, Mr M or How I Quit Smoking over Metal Mickey sings the club classics anyday.

This is really good, I'm not so sure, grows like nothing else - definitely AOTY so far for
The progressions between all the sections are so smooth and strangely logical now - starting to think this is better than Flotus which would put me in a worrying place I'd have to 5 another Lambchop.
Flotus has The Hustle so for now it's ahead.

I’ve settled on a 4 for the new one but yeah it’s my AOTYSF and likely to go up. No one does it like the Chop.
Also that’s interesting Doof I hadn’t noticed the t/t wasn’t vocoderized - will pay attention my next spin.

Zak it's funny you mention Damaged, I've been seriously getting into that one recently - "Prepared [2]" in particular is spectacular

The first two tracks on Damaged are perfect; after that it’s a bit spotty, one of the (relatively) weak Chop albums if you ask me (still great of course).

"Crackers" is the tertiary highlight for me (glad we can all agree on "Paperback Bible" being one of the two best on the album)

Paperback is honestly one of the all time greats.

Their very best tune

"Crackers" and "Country and Western Civilization" are the highlights later in that album for sure.

"Crosswords" is such a beautiful portrait of 21st century/post-Trump malaise. In fact the whole album has a very sort of political/social undertone to it, kinda surprising for the Chop. I should get off my ass and review it.
You're not singing enough
You're not playing
Stressed out by the lunacy...

Never listened to lamb chop before I think I'd better try based on the resident old timers glowing words

Listen to Is A Woman first, an all-time best right there and does a good job of summing up Lambchop's overall sound.

I might recommend Nixon over Is a Woman as an entry point. The former has some of their most immediately enjoyable material, Is a Woman I could see being offputting as an entry.

That is true. IAW is what I started with but Nixon is probably the better call.
