Think this might be the only metal album to come out after 1975 that I've had to turn up just to hear properly.

Also, Sunny Disposition has to be the weirdest track I've ever heard this band do

First time listening with headphones. Holy fuck these dynamics are amazing. Not as good productionwise as HTTK but this is still great. I can hear the bass a fair bit but yeah there is much to be desired with the low end but in my point of view that's just nitpicking. Album is just getting better with every listen for me

Honestly this album makes it clear they need a new vocalist. Instrumentally better than everything they've done in the last 10 years but Shadows basically makes it unlistenable.

He doesn't make it unlistenable but he does hold it back from true greatness.

I give these guys a lot of slack since WtF was one of the early albums I got into growing up but even so I can't stand to listen to him butcher this record with off kilter wailing. Honestly everything after WtF he sounds pretty bad on, but on CoE he still had his moments.

This isn't a band that needs nice hardware to confirm how painfully average they continue to be.

I was never a big avenged sevenfold fan, but I never thought they were ever a bad band. They have moments were their shit ain't bad like city of evil or nightmare. Was never really into their early metalcore stuff to be honest not my thing. This is so much better than hail to the king. I think it's a surprisingly good album from these dudes.

Paradigm could have fit on Waking the Fallen honestly.

I really enjoy the progressive elements on the album, and this is definitely their best since City of Evil. But yeah, M. Shadows is definitely the weak link as usual

Production on the drums is horrible... And as per usual, vocals are cancer. Shadows can't sing his way out of a paper bag.

I don't have a problem with Shadows's vocalist.
