Starting to get the hype for this. Listened to it three times already...

And that's exactly the thing. Never really been much into Meshuggah, so the fact that I spun this twice back to back, and then a third time in two days, without skipping anything is telling me there really is something different about this.

Yeah man, but it's wonderful to have another Meshuggah fan. That gets me crazy butterflies.

I got these guys from the get-go but I've grown to like them more and more as time's gone on

Same, Ocean. I remember listening to Rational Gaze for the first time on Fuse back in 2002 at my cousin's house and we were both like "What in the fuck is this? We need all of this." Almost 15 years later and they're still my favorite band.

I bought nothing back in HS when it came out and I didn't dig it a whole lot. didn't listen to em again for another ten years probably. who'd have known they'd end up being one of my fav bands 14 later?

Glad that they grew on you, ford. I have plenty of bands like that. Strapping Young Lad's City was a bit much for me back when I first listened to it (I was really into nu-metal back then) - took me about 5 years to revisit the great Devin.

And what the hell is going on at metal-archives and progarchives? They both have zero reviews for this album.

idk. never go to those places I guess. well I do, I use metal-archives to check the status of bands I like and that's about it.

Most definitely gonna go back and give their older joints another spin. Right now this is intense.

I remember picking up DEI in 7th/8th grade, my Mom always had Metallica on in the car so I said "hey mom, check out this band!" and she just went "what the shit is this" and I was never allowed to put them on in the car again

Yup, got Tomb of the Mutilated in middle school and was grounded for the first time in my life. I think I was grounded for like 45 years.
