Higher is so good.

Roses and Higher are the standouts here. Like I said ages ago, Roses has a more 'serious' feel that I'd like to see her explore. My boy Fantano didn't like the track but I love it.

I was just repeating a comment parksunjoon said on the Lorde thread which caused a tremendous shitstorm, but as cynical as it sounds I think there is an element of truth to it. I personally don't get much enjoyment from pop music if only because its so simplistic, souless, designed to appeal to the lowest common denominators (the musially oblivious masses). Not all of it but most of it.

pretending to enjoy pop my ass, people legitimately enjoy it, and not without merit. the only reason it seems like "elitists" are biased towards pop is because people are retaliating against decades of snobbish ass bros pretending they can't enjoy catchy music to appear superior to others, and the dismissal of other popular genres such as electronic and rap in general in favor of more l33t genres like metal, dusty dad rock, etc. it only appears people are biased towards pop because ur so used to people shitting on it and lauding all genres of metal ever. case in point: only metalheads seem to find issue with it



it might come to a point where music nerds will unfairly dismiss rock/metal regardless of actual content, but i don't think we're at that point yet
