I don't think the math and prog genres really correlate so well with one another imo

what problems could you have with the production on this? it sounds perfect.

"what problems could you have with the production on this?"
Ridiculously compressed with any and all fidelity wringed out of the recording. Sounds very flat and lifeless as a result, luckily it's only 22 minutes so it's not that fatiguing but yeah fuck Nuclear Blast.

Honestly by the last song I wanted to be done with this it sounds so homogeneous

Math is more related to jazz, actually-- free-jazz, parker's and coltrane's "stream of consciousness" and music ribbons style.

kurt ballou produced this. it may sound "compressed" to you because there's literally no dynamics in nails music. it's a 10/10 aural assault, and for that, it sounds extremely crisp and huge. I think it's very impressive how good it sounds.

title track riffs hard

It's the weakest Nails production yet but it still works

But the big question is of course. Is the production on this or is the production on Magrudergrind the most "lifeless" production on a "not so lifeless" record?
