Had to bump this up. It's actually quite a bit more atmospheric then I originally gave it credit for.



I loved that about Colored Sands (atmospheric without gimmicks) and found it missing from this at first. Think I was paying TOO much attention instead of trying a more passive listen if that makes any sense.

Excellent review. You echoed some of my first impressions with this. As I said somewhere else, they sound like sister albums and I'm fine with that, considering I got into this band with Colored Sands.

Actually got into this band with TEOS, found it and FWTH at my local record store and decided to pick them up since I was starting to get into death metal. The rest is history. Some of the best buys I ever made

I'm a little behind the curve when it comes to Gorguts. I finally checked this out today. What a challenging listen! This'll take a while for me to absorb.
