He has a fucking awful voice and can't compose an interesting track to save his life. Some of the most torpid and shallow shit I've ever had the misfortune of hearing. At least corporate-produced pop music has a shred of energy, or anything resembling a hook

Overgrown is both really seriously fucking bad and also really pretty good
does not even come close to this or the S/T

Agreed so far as he has a voice I struggle to truly embrace

the weeknds trilogy of tapes is the best music of the decade imo, blakes apparent big inspiration frankie o has been my boy since the day he arrived in odd future

Well yeah, vocals come pretty much down to personal taste

I do find Blake's a bit mannered, a bit precociously 'talent school'y as Zak said

The less he leans on his vocals the better his music for me

He sort of reminds me of Sam Smith, but 100 times better

Sam Smith's voice has that touch of whininess that makes me cringe a little.

"you're just setting yourself up for as much disappointment as his mother did by birthing him"

This truth. I don't think she wanted a gay son...

I think Potsy is immune to guilt tripping

Blake's voice is insanely on point but I kind of get the criticisms here

Compare his voice to Justin Vernon's on this same album; it feels very natural whenever Vernon sings where Blake's voice is so massively controlled nearly to the point of being slightly detrimental

Still love this though

They're okay, but 70 minutes of them is rather difficult.

JB became boring when he made his s/t then decided to musically pitch a tent there and never really move again.
