Ah well it's not about the journey, just the destination. I think that's how that phrase goes.

Really neat that Ricky Gervais used this band and Hammock's music in his new show. Might give them more exposure.

Yeah I saw that, what's the show? Didn't know he was one for dramas.

It's called After Life on Netflix, I think it's a mini-series.

Friday Night Lights has used Explosions in The Sky exceptionally well. Fits everything about that show.

I don’t get it about this album. It’s either 5s in here or hateful 1.5-2s

I don't completely hate crescendocore (I like Yndi Halda ). But for the most part its just uninspired and predictable crap. Completely different to the first wave. Part of the reason I hate it so much is that I have listened to more post-rock than any other rock genre after the year 2000.
Aside from the lack of exploration, modern post-rock music tends to lack any emotion effect on me. Its often cheesy, and will always be synonymous with shallow tv dramas and advertisements.

weird thing is i hated yndi halda and i found this to have a lot more depth to it than most post-rock these days.

Did you ever consider that modern post rock wasn’t written with the intention of being written into piss poor dramas? I hardly know what dramas you’re talking about too. Hate the music all you want, but I hardly think that’s a valid critique of modern post rock.

I didnt try to say they were created for that purpose Mongi. I said synonymous. For me the naive over the top use of crescendos are akin to the shallow and predictable dramas of tv and film. My brain cant help but think of something like we brought a zoo, or young orphan delinquents finding love. Its not really a serious critique.
