I agree, it's such a challenge to enjoy due to the terrible production. There are a lot of terribly mixed/mastered albums that I really enjoy, but this one is up there with the worst.

They've had bad production since Blue honestly, Red is their only decent sounding LP

Blue Record and Y&G both had fine production, the fuck are you on about

LOL! Red was indeed the only good-sounding record, Blue sounds godawful, Y&G maybe a little bit better but still awful, and this one sounds shitty as well.

They are all fine but this one. Red came closest to capturing their live sound though, which is where they shine.

If your metric for "fine" is overwhelming compression leading to godawful sounding drums and limp dicked guitar tones, then sure. I honestly didn't think the production on this was all that different from y&g or blue, maybe a bit worse but they've been content with a very shit sound production-wise for a while now

Every now and then, I come back to this album solely for Morningstar. What a killer jam.

I would have never started listening to blue if it didn't sound so bad, I think it's part of its charm, it's what makes it unique.
Anyway, can somebody close to this band tell them that we're waiting for that new record that they "already recorded"?

Simply a beautifully crafted record chock-full of radio friendly hits that never feel forced or contrived and remain consistently interesting.

Hey look at that, a correct opinion (:

A correct opinion indeed, but this doesn't make me long for a new record any less.
Come on, didn't they say it was done?

I just hope it has good production for once. I really liked this record

I think that the questionable production choices are what drew me to this band in the first place.

These guys are opening up for deafheaven next spring.

they are co-headlining

that's really cool
|

Its showing deafheaven as the headliner for my city which kind of sucks, since they literally just headlined here.

Baroness is one of the best live bands I've ever seen, Deafheaven not so much, but good for them for achieving that level of success.
|

Yeah I got nothing against Dfhvn but Baroness should headline every show they play
