Glad all the cynical douchebags can finally feel justified in hating this band.

Wow calm down. I was a fan of this band until they started sucking. I'm willing to admit when a band I like isn't as good as they once were.

Sorry if that came off as personal, Source. I'm still learning that there is only so much jaded sarcasm a thread can handle. That might have come off as a little harsh, but I wasn't directing the anger at you, believe it or not.

This is certainly a disappointment, and their weakest record to date. The anger I feel is primarily towards whoever decided it was a priority to rush this release, not towards people who hate it. Also Stargate was a shite choice for production and Martin's heelface turn towards carefree enlightenment comes off as more than a little forced after the somber atmosphere ofGhost Stories. There are some genuinely good tracks here (Hymn for the Weekend, Up and Up, Miracles, and the lead single), buried in a lot of underdeveloped crap. With a bit more time and perhaps a different studio, this could have been Mylo 2.0. Instead it's more like Mylo-0.5.

I agree with how questionable the production is. Some bad choices like the beat in Amazing Day make it sound less natural and the snaps on Miracles sound too synthetic. That's why I find Birds to be the best track, because sounds like it came right off from Mylo.

I really hate Hymn for the weekend. Adventure of a Lifetime is pre decent, but like I said in the review the lyrics really drag it down.

Lyrics for Hymn For The Weekend are terrible but the general feel of the song is good and the way they slot Beyonce in is well done too. Simply put, the track achieves exactly what it sets out to do

Everglow sounds like a song on the better half of Mylo Xyloto so it has a win in my book
