I do really like "The Mother We Share" as an opener on the other album. Sets a good tone. This is seemingly less interesting, but wins for better album cover of the two.

band is dead

You're the second person to say that on this page. Clearly, none of the band members have died, and the band itself hasn't split up. So... not dead.

metaphorically dead, u kno wht dat means

Yeah although I don't really think that's valid either. They just released a new album. I could understand it if the band hadn't released anything in years, or they flat out switched to a genre that no one gave a shit about... but they've done neither. They released an album largely in the same vein to their previous. Maybe this one isn't as strong but I certainly don't think they should be written off because of it.

Down Side of Me is great. I was hesitant to give this album a second chance because the first listen wasn't very amazing (still pretty good though minus Leave A Trace, Keep You On My Side, and Clearest Blue which are amazing), but I'm a lot more willing to now.

The background vocal track on "Never Ending Circles" gives me an electrorection

They did a remix of Bury It feat. Hayley Williams pretty sweet

This band at their best are like tear-filled sex with your best friend
at their worst they're rolling on ex wrapped in a wool carpet

New version doesn't have the effect that the original did with the layered vocals, but Haley introduces a lot of new attitude that's pretty great. I think her voice contrasts nicely.

Very tempted to go see Chv live again whenever the hell the chance arises next. Hasn't disappointed at all. Call me fucking weird icec this kind of music is really euphoric in a live setting, in my mind at least.

Like. I last saw them in November IIRC. They played tons of songs from this album. And everything ., I've realized.
I just can't 4.5 it though because the stretch of the last few tracks is pretty weak.

I haven't listened to this for a while but Leave a Trace is pretty much perfect.

Leave a Trace hasn't as much replay value imo, but it's one of the better ones for sure. The chorus of Keep You On My Side rules, too.
