Objectively I'd admit ABBA's greatest hits probably doesn't deserve to rate a 1 but sit me in a room and force me to listen to it twice and risk violence. For me it's so irritating it's a 1.
This is seriously in that ballpark
Origin I have as a 2/5 as my highest rated Muse, it's poor but I could listen to it no problem, I just don't think it's particularly strong

People actively seek out shit to 1 without listening to the shit so they can boost their objectivity ranking.
At least you gave the record a listen lol

Sounds to me like you just don't like Muse and you're going in with expectations preset. If it's not your cup of tea I understand, just seems like you went in to this ready to pounce on everything you dislike. I honestly think the album, through all it's flaws, has a lot of highlights and cool parts.

they do put on great live shows but i still listen to them cause hell i just think theyre fun as fuck. the resistance was an overblown pretentious bellamy-wankfest and as disappointing as it was he still threw in some great tracks (mk ultra, exogenesis 1 and 2), and in the 2nd law he just stopped caring and still proved he can make great music while just fucking around
personally i think it was a way to plunge them into the mainstream. before bh&r they werent nearly as popular so i think bellamy started catering to the pop community (again, still throwing in some gems for the longterm fans), and on this album it feels like theyre going back to their pre-pop days on some tracks and in that respect (gaining a much bigger fanbase, getting a shitload more money, complete musical freedom, etc) i think matt is a genius
i know this hardly has to do with what we were talking about but idk thats basically how i feel about the bands progression these past few albums

Death Grips are like an exclusive club - 10% about the music and 90% all the other guff 'ooh will they split on stage for the 200th time, yikes they put a cock on their album sleeve' etc.
Madonna I've never liked and the songs on that album have been played to death, sorry adr I could live with never hearing Like a Prayer ever again.
Think most people unavoidably listen to bad stuff or just choose to listen to stuff they don't rate for their amusement rather than the objectivity score

Unlike most people, I dont consider The Resistance a strike. Maybe a foul ball, but its still pretty good.
Anyways, this is definitely a swing and a miss in my book. Making that two strikes in a row. At its core, this album is SO generic and boring. But they do add in a few Muse tricks, making this slightly better than 2nd Law. The only song I actually enjoyed on this was Revolt.

Anyone else feel like the mix is pretty mediocre? The vocals are too dry and up front, which makes the instrumentation sound small a lot of the time.

Revolt has a nice chorus but the verses sound like every 80's rock track.

In 2012 we all thought Supremacy was going to be in Skyfall, if Dead Inside isn't used for Spectre this year that'll be two wasted opportunities.
