The dude at my record thought that this was his favorite Opeth album hitherto.

Strange, but very cool.

River is a great song. I just got the deluxe CD, and I'm still digging it.

It's probably 3rd best after Moon and Eternal Rains

I really love when "Voice of Treason" opens up around the 6 minute mark. Probably my favorite moment of the album. The drumming and vocals during that section are fantastic. The album overall reminds me of a mix of Ghost Reveries and Watershed, just with 70s production. It's way less self-indulgent and more Opeth sounding than Heritage, which is a big plus for me.

I don't get how this is remotely like Watershed or Ghost Reveries. I suppose you could make a point about Watershed but Watershed is so much darker

I don't hear any WS or GR. I hear Camel and King Crimson.

I really don't care for this album. I think 'Cusp of Eternity' and 'Eternal Rains' are passable, decent tracks. The rest puts me into a boredom coma.

I feel a lot of GR vibes in Moon Above, Sun Below, a bit in Voice of Treason too. no Watershed though

The first couple minutes from Faith in Others sounds Watershed-esque

Like this A LOT more than Heritage. I need to give Heritage some more listens though as I've only

listened to it around five times but it really didn't do much for me.
