It's been trendy to like Heritage for the whole year now, especially with users like JT defending the hell out of it constantly. Though I remember when this leaked everyone crying out how they redeemed themselves from Heritage and everything, but ever since shortly before the stream everyone likes Heritage even more and saying that all its faults are actually PC's problems

Took me a year to like heritage, and loved it for most of this year, but has grown off me a bit like this recently

I just hated the backlash it got bacause it wasn't "metal". But the more I listen to PC the more I like it yet I do not consider it their strongest work at all (bwp and Damnation hold those titles for me).
Someone mentioned that this almost feel like a Wilson project (obviously it has his DNA from producing it) and I tend to agree.

BWP is overrated. They tried too hard to focus on the atmosphere and the atmosphere is boring. Still Life all the way.

i actually approve that opeth gets better on a musician's standpoint every record. you can hear that they still getting better technically. thats not a given. look at in flames for example. their music gets duller and duller with every release.
