if i recall correctly, the drumming on this is much more in sync than on the Saor record. probably the result of Lunn handling everything on this album, whereas the Saor drum tracks were probably emailed (?)

Cap I actually took the time to dig through both Saor threads but I didn't see any of your posts that mentioned specific off time drum instances. I'm pretty curious tbh

i agree re the drums on saor. though still impressive and ambitious, you can hear the imperfections at times throughout

You don't have to or anything, I was just curious but I'm not gonna make you go to the trouble. I don't really recall anything too noticeable. I always listen to it when driving however, that might be why I didn't notice.

I think the problems on Aura are also probably exaggerated by the low volume of the guitars in the mix. It can make the drums seem even more overpowering, which prob makes the off-time-iness even more noticeable.

he srsly needs to have a different guitar tuning/sound on whatever he does next, though.

No qualms about the drumming on this album though. Drumming's fav part on this album, too bad musical compositions aren't up to par.

Thank you, someone sees this album for what it is.

Lunn will never duplicate his debut and Collapse.

Conceptually, sure, but content-wise I think this beats it. Way more ideas going on and they're all pretty well fleshed-out.

Absolutely love the percussion on this, can anyone confirm if this a drum machine or not?

Honestly this sounds absolutely nothing like a drum machine. The drumming is way too clunky and imprecise at points to be automated.

yeah typically it is extremely obvious when a band is using a drum machine
