It's a slow grower. This album needs a lot of listens to fully appreciate how refined and thick the sound is. There's a lot to discover here. Get stoned and put your headphones on. Lie down and close your eyes.

That goes for me with Palace Rowan. Probably my least favourite track here. Could be I over played it though.

The nuance of the vocals and the lyrics really make this for me. Like the lyrics of Doppelgänger mixed with that delivery gives me goosebumps every time
Did Palace really put anyone else off for the album for a while? It kinda sounds like a Hallmark soundtrack tbh. But this whole album's take on identity drew me in on my second listen.
If there's anything The Antlers have shown me it's how potent a chill track mixed with unsettling lyrics can be

Damn son Palace is gorgeous as hell, the "but I SWEAR I'LL FIND YOUR LIGHT IN THE MIDDLE" part gives me chills every time

Yeah that part in Palace is awesome
I love how in songs like Palace and Intruders he does more or less the same vocal melody throughout but gradually throughout the song he puts just a little bit more strength in the high notes until everything's just huge

Yeah this is the first album where I thought his low range matched his high range
Like on Hospice his falsetto is absolutely incredible but the lower range wasn't quite as strong
On here he absolutely kills both though, just look at Doppelganger
And yeah his passionate vocals when they really reach their peak are some of my favourite things to listen to - like that middle section of Parade

i saw them live in july, i remember them playing Palace Doppelganger Hotel Intruders and Parade from this album. it was quite a fucking experience.
