I listened to Ashes Against The Grain first.

Falling Snow is the first track that I heard. The Mantle came quite a bit later.

Agreed. Limbs is probably my favourite track by them, but The Mantle is my favourite album.

5'd the Musk Ox record, everything is on the place where it should be.

Into The Painted Grey always feels like a crushing wave of sound to me. It's overwhelming, like you're in a maelstrom.

One of my favourites by them. Perhaps favourite on the album too.

Agreed, In The Shadow of Our Pale Companion is great.

It contains my favourite Agalloch lyrics:

Here at the edge of this world

Here I gaze at a pantheon of oak, a citadel of stone

If this grand panorama before me is what you call God. . .

Then God is not dead

Just got back from seeing Agalloch like 10 minutes ago, it was pretty amazing. Their sound was the most crisp clear I have ever heard from a band live, even better than the album itself. Musk Ox had some pretty beautiful music and were okay.

Jex Thoth really surprised because their albums are awful, and their music isn't great but they really know how to put on a show! Amazing stage presence and performance. At one point during the show the vocalist pretended to stab herself with a knife and people were like legit concerned it was really fucking weird.

Album has been growing on me like a motherfucker and sounds surprisingly powerful live (although wouldve liked to hear a bit more old material). Fantastic performance by all members though, beautiful set by Musk Ox and Jex Thoth were aight.

I have difficulty choosing between Shadow, Embers, and Falling Snow. They're all beyond perfect.
