Animals as Leaders certainly does not suck. They are phenomenal musicians and AMAZING live. That being said, Chevelle is my favorite band on this planet.

I don't know man, this review is pretty extreme. I mean saying there's no need to listen to "Ruse" anymore? That is inhumane man. Ruse is still beautiful. And your title, to say it's the most un-chevelle album? I mean they are Chevelle, whatever they choose to do is really Chevelle, because that's their name.

Animals as Leaders is amazing. But their new album still doesn't live up to their debut imo, though it's still great. Physical Ed and Woven Web especially make me shit my pants. But this album is Chevelle's best for me, I'm glad they finally let go of their usual 'formula' that made some songs sound similar either in tone, structure or riffs. Though the opening riff on The Damned reminded me of opening of Antisaint :P
