I think all their stuff is worth listening to. I wouldn't call any of their stuff predictable or even really that much alt rock
It Hates You is super weird in all the right ways and I would say is their best non phxc album. White Bat kinda sounds like it would have fit right in between Poison and It Hates You (I think I stole that from somebodies soundoff, but it is super accurate) and would have been a less jarring shift away from the sound of their first two albums since it has a bit of phxc and more of that southern-ish edge to it
Few and Heavy Fruit are the weaker ones for me out of the discog, but they are both pretty damn good still and Heavy Fruit has a few of my fave HiL songs (This Will Never Work and Be Easy)

I’m digging all the IAH bumps lately.

Fair enough Ecnalzen. I should hear them both a bit more before passing judgment.

You never know!
I just love this band. I notice a lot of ppl wrote them off after they dropped the phxc/screaming and whatnot, but damn, I think they still have had such a great output of music since then

I mean it's understandable.
These guys were some of the best at this and then they decide to stop doing it.

From my understanding and possibly poor memory, they only wrote this because they thought it was expected of them, or something to that effect. I guess they kinda hated this album for a while and refused to play anything from it live. I don't think that is the case anymore
I forget where I heard/read that at and could quite possibly be fabricating most, if not all of it

What i heard is that Schuylar also had a hard time singing this live and didn't want to keep screaming.

That's very possible too, since his clean vox sound so very different on everything following this
I think I remember seeing a live video where they started to play the intro to The Seduction as a last song or maybe an encore, the crowd went wild, and then they stopped and just walked off stage
I think his singing voice has matured quite well, too, over the non phxc albums

The reason his vox kinda suck after this is because he was drinking and smoking a lot and not taking care of his voice.

I actually like his fucked up voice now, gives the music a certain charm.
One of the other guys could have picked up screaming though.

Well the screaming wasn't as necessary anymore given the southern alt rock (or whatever) direction they went in later on.

That's not the first time I have seen that drinking/smoking thing... I remember the user that has posted that before. Interesting... Could you be? Hmm......... Nah, probly not
Anyway, if I were to categorize their non phxc albums, I would say It Hates You is almost kind of a psychedelic-ish hard rocker, Heavy Fruit is more in the bluesy/southern-ish rock style, Few is more of a metal tinged hard rocker, and then White Bat is kind of a combo of all their albums in one, brings back a smidge of harsh vocals and brings the southern style back more than the previous 3 did. Basically, they have been fucking around with varying styles of hard rock and I think all have been pretty effective without sounding like a re tread of anything before it, but still sounding like HiL
That's their post Poison albums in a nutshell from me. May or may not be accurate and is not endorsed by the band
