I'd say "Merry Go Bye Bye" is my favorite Bungle track. None of their other songs sound like it.

Mr. Bungle's music is hard to put into words. Props. This album is their best imo.

I started to listen to this a bunch again a few weeks ago, and I started to wonder if I prefer it to California, myself.

California is easier to enjoy but this is IMO ultimately more satisfying. It has an elegant, often minimalistic and very focused sound, almost every note seems to have a purpose. On their last album it's more like a lot of shit going on for reasons not always clear, and the genres are more often just shuffled rather than pushed-forward. Still a very good record with a terrific closer.

I don't think their debut touches this or California, but I used to love it, and it's definitely worth checking out.

Debut is full a lot of silly toilet humor but it's very fresh musically and contains their best song.
