Listened to this for the first time in ages. I'm not a massive Porcupine Tree fan, but this album rules.

The Octane Twisted/Seance/Circle Of Manias triptych still kicks my ass and opener Blind House and closer I Drive The Hearse are pure destruction.

D'ya think PT will ever get together again? I hope so tbh, feels like they have a bit of unfinished business.

Wilson has recently said that PT is done for good. And I disagree, their progression throughout their lengthy career has been massive. To expect more feels a bit entitled, their run has been insane. Sadly, outside of that one Storm Corrosion album, I haven't clicked with any of Wilson's other material that much.

I have mixed feelings about it, on the one hand I think Wilson helped make Blackwater Park and Deliverance better, on the other, I think he actively ruined Opeth's music in the long term. If we got more Storm Corrosion it would be bittersweet for me but bring it on if it's in the cards.

How did he ruin Opeth's music in the longrun? Jc, no judgment

Storm Corrosion 2 would be pretty damn cool

And this album is too fucking long

I think he was the big push that made Mikael go through with Heritage, which I think was an awesome album but it was the beginning of the end for them. They clearly had some kind of rivalry together (maybe it's just me) that ran as deep as their comradery, and when Wilson struck out on his own with some weird prog shit, Mikael followed suit. Both artists were growing bored with metal at the same time as well, and they influenced each other.
