On that note, I really don't understand why someone who normally enjoys post-hardcore-oriented music would disapprove of this album or Fake History.



Sure, it alludes occasionally to R&B and pop-inspired passages and some vocal effects on this album are definitely evident (The Fear Fever).



Other than that, I really don't see where the hate is coming from -- all the neg'ers here seem to be mostly pointing fingers at the production here rather than the musicianship.

I would assume you're refeering to all the synthesizers and chugga, chugga breakdowns or otherwise all the other bland tropes that seem to saturate this genre nowadays.
