haven't enjoyed a metal album this much in a very long time. just so you know, to the 'outside observer' the argument on the first page about djent and progressive metal looks ridiculous.

That sax.... I don't know. It's the second run in I've had with a sax and prog metal in a week (Dorthal being the first) and it's just strange imo.
Overall though need to let this digest. I had gotten excited after warming up to their final vocalist selection but feel some how let down by this album.

I've heard One and enjoyed that a lot as well, this just sounded more polished and I liked the vocals.

lol, haven't gotten that far with Dream Theater. Sort of got sick of them. The sax will grow on me though.

I'll give it a chance at some point.
As for this, it literally came to me in a dream why I can't love it. That awful radiating unnecessary refinement (que all the music 'know it alls' to pick apart every thing that was 'wrong' with One). It's riddled across this album and I just don't like it.

They take too much into the djent thing this time. It's like they're missing an integral asset to their creative process now.
And yeah I am torn between What I thing and what my heart feels. I love it, but I still can't get used to Ashe and well they do drag on in a few places (something that never plagued the first album) And the energy with this guy's vocals is just so different. 80% of the album if you aren't paying full attention has this dark/ dreary feel to it.
Like I said My head is picky while subconsciously I AM actually digging this (hence the high rating)
