A friend of mine is a big fan of excision, 3 times that I was in his home it sounded like a hospital full of transformers with a severe dysfunction. The music of Excision sometimes is enjoyable and is catchy but he's not a remarkable act.

Yeah my friend is a huge Excision fan also and he tried to get me into it. I feel the same way as you, some of it is kind of cool, but it can get annoying really quick.

Sleepless is a catchy track. Even X-Rated is cool sometimes.

OK I finally heard the other two tracks, and I still think you guys are overreacting. It's hardly the worst thing he's ever done. I mean, I know the Burial worship and other random shit he does to try to separate himself from the electro/brostep scene is kind of annoying, but this music isn't awful especially by his standards. All songs feel decidedly "average" to me, or else not far below that rank: nothing is offensively bad. The Reason could easily be a (decent) Deadmau5 song. Scary Bolly Dub is like a less horrible version of that "Make it Bun Dem" track, and I kind of like his reworking on the OHMYGOSH drop from whatever song that was, Scary Monsters of something. Still pretty lame though (probably the worst of the three tbh).



Idk, maybe I'm cutting him too much slack, but this EP isn't terrible. 2.5/5 and much, much better than Bangarang. A step in the right direction if you ask me, not that he'll be relevant for that much longer. The samples though, are hilariously transparent and poorly applied.
