The trilogy would have been so much better if produced like Nimrod or Warning. The guitar Billie chose for it has weird sounding pickups which don't translate well through this mix, and everything is congested. There's little clarity or punch. Only thing is Tre is such a good album it's still quite enjoyable despite the production. I would totally be for a total re-production remaster of the trilogy because the songs deserve it.

there was no saving this particular batch of songs lol but its true the production is dogshit.
could maybe make a passable 10 track album out of the fuckin 37 they shit out but like 1 or 2 of em would come from here most of this is horrible

that's because father of all motherfuckers is good
infinitely better than the higher ranked garage rock album they made under a different name years ago

Some of the best of the trilogy is on here but the worst on Dos! isn't just boring but also offensive to my ears.

the takeaways from this are stray heart and lazy bones
the rest should be whacked

Ok these albums sound surprisingly good on my HiFiMan RE-400s. Without using a software EQ, these are my best headphones for the Trilogy I've found so far. There's way less congestion and everything sounds more natural and less processed. And they aren't even bassy headphones, it's just the overall balance that brings more clarity in places the trilogy needs. This makes me continue to think they were in fact compensating for a speaker issue during mixing that comes out poorly on most setups.
TBH though I kinda just recommend the RE-400s in general. Best IEMs I have personally tried. Great for bringing out details you've never noticed while still enjoying the music.
