I don't know how comfortable I am with white boys ( you are white, right? I don't care you honkey ass fcrackah) calling me nigga, because I'm 25% black. Actually, you know what? I don't care...

So since there is no hope for you metal-wise, ( the calmer--medium passages on RIITIIR are great ) tell me, what do you think is good chill music?

i just realized, the summary for this review is pretty dumb. how would taking time to unwrap a present ensure enjoyment of whatever youre unwrapping? pretty sure its not going to be any less enjoyable if you just rip apart the packaging and get to your present right away. the analogy doesnt really work.

Okay so maybe it's (RIITIIR) a 4. Minimum...

The paralax hypersleep whatever part 1 is a well played....VERY well played piece of mediocrity...

I can see why you would say that. A small part of my brain agrees. Un-ironically or sardonically . somthinh like that

The growls are interesting, the cleans surprising. Not sure what to make of this yet, but I'm not that far into it either.

It's fucking awesome Brandon. I've been playing this to death the last few days. I don't see how any Enslaved fan could be disappointed.

To the guy that sais my summary was kinda dumb-Why the hell did you not make that point in the first of your many many comments on this thread? Surely a summary is the first thing you notice when reading a Sputnik review? And as for my 'dumb' summary, I was simply comparing listening to an album like 'Riitiir' with unwrapping a christmas present. If you rush both processes....I'll give a scenario:

Rushing listening to 'Riitiir'-"Meh, there's too much in this album, it sounds shit".

Rushing the unwrapping of a christmas present-"HELL YEAH I GOT SOME....CHRISTMAS SOCKS?"

Taking time to listen to 'Riitiir' more than once: 1) "I can see what they're trying to do, and I respect that, but it's not for me,

or 2) "I see what they've done here, and it sounds marvellous"

Taking time to unwrap a christmas present: "Hmm, ok, let's see what we have here...Christmas Socks? Oh well, it's the thought that counts. Thanks Nana."

how is unwrapping it slowly going to change your mind on whether you appreciate the thought or not? and now youre changing it from enjoying the contents (which you imply in the summary) to ensuring that you...dont insult your grandma by being an ingrate? still makes no sense.

What I was actually implying in the summary and in my last comment was that you shouldn't rush straight into something like 'Riitiir', taking your time to listen to it rather than merely listening to it once and giving your opinion there and then. I used the idea of unwrapping a christmas present because even if you are disappointed with the outcome (as some people are with 'Riitiir', however many times they've heard it), you can at least be grateful for what the band have done-or whatever present you've just opened.

"to ensuring that you...dont insult your grandma by being an ingrate?"

I was just using that as a scenario as opposed to justifying my answer.

And you still haven't answered my other query-Why did you not make a point of the summary in your first few comments rather than stating it now when this thread is on its 21st page?
