Better than Vital...ehhh i dunno about that. They're definitely very close in quality IMO, but I tend to like Vital a bit more. still absolutely adore this album though.

I like Vital better as well (they are pretty close for me now). It was an instant awesome for me, while this grew from really good to awesome over time. BUT, I also think The Silver Cord is better than this too. It is still my favorite TCC album so far.

agreed. Vital was like love at first listen but this album took some listens for me to truly appreciate its beauty. still one of my top 5 albums of 2012 by far.

this album has too much wasted potential

this was prob more ambitious than Vital

but while Anberlin absolutely nails God, Drugs & Sex through understatement and subtlety, The Classic

Crime doesn't really deliver on Heaven and Hell (which, based on its bombast, should be on the level

of *fin but never gets there)

more or less, that applies for the entire albums. Vital just has better execution than Phoenix

my opinion anyways, obviously I'm partial to Anberlin
