I have one of their albums. It's alright. The Edge writes cool stuff but SO MUCH REVERB I can't handle it sometimes.

I dislike their music, but not because of Bono. I just happen to hate him too. Boring butt rock
|
| |
Let me put this question to you: if you can hate their music because Bono has a horrible personality, shouldn't you also love it because the Edge is the nicest dude ever born? Think about it
I don't see what people dislike about their music (unless you're listening to Pop). At their best, they have great vocals, great lyrics and great instrumentals.

| |
They have some good songs, I won't deny that, but they just aren't something I'd actually want to listen to past hearing them on the radio by happenstance.
|
| |
Man they have so many great songs that aren't popular enough to be on the radio though, in fact some of their best are pretty unknown

Link, perhaps?

Euphoria.

I dunno, I mean, this sounds like pretty standard U2 to me. It's not bad, but it's not especially good either. Thanks for the linkage, though! I tried.
What about the band, guys?!?
|

Oh well
We can continue with our supergroup once I've gone to get chips, brb

I agree with Ec, sounds pretty much like standard U2. That is to say standard buttrock.
I would be so down to down an e-collab actually. I need more musical activity

I'd need to get some recording gear first.

Hurry up and do so

What would be some good, yet somewhat cheap, shit to start out with? I remember you telling me what software you used a while back, but I forget.

I use Mixcraft 6, which is like $90. My interface is a UX2 which I paid like $250 for with some cheap MXL mics
|
| |
That interface looks pretty snazzy.

It comes with the latest version of Podfarm as well, so you can use digital amps if need be. Reaper is also a free and fantastic DAW. It's got a pretty steep learning curve though. I prefer Mixcraft because it's extremely user friendly

I'll have to save up some monies and look into all this jazz.

Shure SM57's and SM58's are also incredibly popular, affordable and amazing mics. They're close to $100
Here's another great interface:

Mmhmm. SM57 & 58 were my recording teacher's microphones of choice until we got the funding for some more expensive stuff later down the line.

I would wholeheartedly recommend them. I just use cheaper stuff cause I am poor as hell and make due with what I can get ;]
